Our History
Tororo Mixed Secondary School (TOMSS) is a mixed boarding and day secondary school having both Ordinary and Advanced Levels of education. Since its inception in 2015, TOMSS remains committed to delivering quality education to young people in Tororo District and beyond.
Founded on Christian values, the school was founded with a vision to nurture students
academically, morally, and spiritually, hence preparing them to become responsible and God-
fearing citizens. Tororo Mixed Secondary School (TOMSS) operates in alignment with Global
Sustainable Development Goal four (4), which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality
education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
Over the past decade, the school has consistently registered improved academic performance,
increased student enrollment, and a growing list of alumni who are making meaningful
contributions to their communities and careers. Its mixed-gender approach promotes teamwork,
equality, and mutual respect among learners, preparing them for life in a diverse and dynamic
world.
TOMSS is located in Osukuru Town Council, Tororo District, along Busia Road, in a serene and
accessible area that offers an ideal setting for focused learning and character development. From
the beginning, the school set its sights on excellence, with the goal of becoming the best
secondary school in Uganda and the East African region. This vision continues to inspire the
school’s operations, from rigorous academics and committed teaching staff to the integration of
co-curricular and spiritual development programs.
Today, TOMSS stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity in Eastern Uganda. It remains firmly
rooted in its founding principles; Christian discipline, academic excellence, and personal integrity
while embracing innovation and modern teaching methods. As the school looks to the future, it
remains committed to shaping young lives for leadership, service, and lifelong impact.
